The book is not just an academic investigation but a practical attempt to solve a persistent problem in several marriages based on the author's personal and vicarious experiences. The author is at once bold and analytical in offering this psychological cum spiritual insight on a topic most contributors will either ignore or pretend does not exist. His training in psychology and his spiritual orientation as a born-again Christian combine to offer hope to those who are almost at their wit's end on how to cope with their partners and find a road back to marital bliss.
Having gone through this book, and with the benefit of hindsight of several years of marriage counselling and marital experience, I have no doubt in my mind that it will bring succour to so many homes where partners are struggling to understand and cope with their spouses. No effort must be spared in helping couples to live together in peace and harmony. Putting a copy of this book in the hands of couples will go a long way in fulfilling that purpose.

Becoming An Accountant
The emerging trend in the accountancy profession is very encouraging for the future of developing countries like Nigeria. Young and vibrant academics are researching and developing views and ideas on the profession and showing their ability to become relevant players in our ever-competitive global world. The author of the book demonstrates these worthy attributes and the book “Becoming an Accountant” confirms these assertions.
The book which is divided into eight chapters gives the historical perspective of the profession, steps to take to become not only a professional accountant but a successful one for the matter. He provides a comparative analysis of the profession across many countries of the world. He shows the rare courage of dabbling into the rivalry that exists between the two statutorily recognised Accounting bodies in Nigeria (i.e. ICAN and ANAN) and leaves no one in doubt that the emergence of ANAN has positively impacted the practice and development of the profession in Nigeria.
The author has performed brilliantly in the task that he sets for himself, the task of writing a comprehensive accounting book that would meet the needs of many. His ideas are meaningfully formulated and clearly explained in each of the chapters. Although the book is wholly theoretical, the mission of the author is well defined which is an encouragement to people to embrace the profession, the steps towards achieving this, and the dividends accruable for doing so. The book is highly recommended to all students and teachers of accounting, practitioners as well as to all business managers.
